Bermuda Sloop Red Medium Sailboat Ship Model
Product Description

AS069 Bermuda Sloop, Medium Sailboat Ship Model
39 x 33.75" x 5.5"
Dark red and white hull with antiqued sails.
The pond yacht of the 1930s. Plank-on-frame construction, weighted keel, deck made of actual wood strips. Overall brass fittings. A typical pond yacht mahogany hatch to allow more ballast, or even radio control gear. Cotton main and jibs with detailed stitching. A truly beautiful ship, always in high demand.
Some boats are for looks. Others actually sail. In the 1920s pond racing was a high tech business and the racers dressed up their (up to 8 feet, 2.4m long) toy boats with assorted hardware and gear. Bermuda Sloops could be recognized by a long bowsprit on a relatively short-hulled boat. As pond racers they were popular in the roaring thirties. A weighted keel, a relatively waterproof hull and hardware to trim sails and masts are all there. A rudder quadrant controls steering to some extent. Removable stand.

 | AS000 Ship Wall Brackets, Set of 2, 1.5" x 7.75"
Wood and brass model ship brackets attach to the wall, allowing you to display your sailing ship anywhere... All hardware included.
One bracket has a deeper more triangular shape to cradle the front of the hull; the second bracket has a more gently curved shape to cradle the rear of the hull.
These brackets are for ships that come with a removable stand, so that you can display them on a wall without using the stand. Ships that come with a built-in integral stand should be displayed on a shelf. $25.00 |
