Yachts in the first half of the 20th C. were mostly built at small local yards. Hull shape and rig were adapted from proven fishing vessels and pilot boats. Endurance and ease of use were key factors. The Friendship was designed as a family world cruiser, able to withstand any and all conditions. Two masted, plank-on-frame hull, detailed. Truly a classic.

Before the age of the carbon-fiber racers and the need to compete for the America's Cup, the prevailing dream was a mahogany built sailing cruiser. Elegant yet sturdy, able to deal with all kinds of weather. A classic cockpit, bronze portholes and fittings and a sensible rig. The Friendship is one of the most elegant and nostalgic wood cruisers from the 1930s.

Ship Wall Brackets

Wood and brass model ship brackets attach to the wall, allowing you to display your sailing ship anywhere... All hardware included.

One bracket has a deeper more triangular shape to cradle the front of the hull; the second bracket has a more gently curved shape to cradle the rear of the hull.

These brackets are for ships that come with a removable stand, so that you can display them on a wall without using the stand. Ships that come with a built-in integral stand should be displayed on a shelf.
