Tide Clocks

Tide Clocks
Tide clocks use a special movement that follows the moon's cycle instead of the sun's cycle. Tides are caused by the moon's influence on the oceans. You set a tide clock by using tide charts or by directly observing high tide at your location. Once set, the special movement keeps track of the high and low tides for you as they change each day. Tide clocks are most precise on the Atlantic coast. They can be used on the Pacific Coast but may require more frequent adjustments. Tide clocks are not recommended for use on the Gulf coast where many different factors besides the moon also influence the tides.
